Pinings…in poetry

Day 9 of 30 day challenge @Writersbootcmp about pining

What do I long for? Honestly, I don’t know, I’m so confused with this. Do I make a list of things and people? What do I really yearn for? The one I love is right here by me. The meaning fo the word is so….deep and sensual that I have no idea what I’m pining for 🙂

I have a list of many people I miss, but being close to them is no longer possible for they have passed on. I also have a list of things I’d love to have or see or experience but it’s not really a longing either

From the dictionary – to yearn deeply; suffer with longing; long painfully, or painful longing

You see how beautiful that word is, for that reason I’d like to share a beautiful poem that speaks of longing and love ♥

I carry your heart with me

E. E. Cummings

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in
my heart) I am never without it (anywhere
I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is you’re doing, my darling)

I fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)

    • ah me too! It’s just pure poetry and I love “where you go I go” and “here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide”
Everything it’s just too perfect! 🙂 So nice to know you share the same passion xoxo
