Laugh your heart out

Picture1lolTo say that the past two weeks (actually last month and a half) have been stressful is a bit of an understatement. I literally made myself sick with worry and stress, with a few outbursts of crying for good measure. It has also been raining every day for most of the day since last Saturday. Grey skies for so long here in SA is a bit uncommon. I love the rain and we need it badly but seeing the sun today for the first time since Saturday morning was a real welcome. It seemed to lift everyone’s spirits too.

And then….while in the office my friend shared a video that almost made me pee in my pants. Seriously it’s that funny. I don’t like fights, stress, grumpiness, anger, and tears. I just love a good hearty laugh and sunshine and happy people, I’m sure we all do. Maybe that’s why a good laugh after a bad time always tastes and feels even better. Like medicine.

So if you are feeling a little blue today and need to just let go and forget the worries for a bit, then check out what made my ribs hurt so much from laughter. Enjoy. Laugh really loud. And watch it again. I know I did. I wish you a very happy Thursday (yeah it’s almost weekend) on my Monday Madness post.

We don’t all share the same funny bone, so I’m sorry if you don’t like it 😀

Chain Mail

Don’t you hate chain mail? I remember we used to get some strange ones in the post (in the old days) of letters in envelopes. Something about people who did not send the chain letter on and a day later someone in the family died?….

Anyway they continue to haunt us on email and sms, or any other form of messaging. Pass this on to 10 people and your luck will change. There isn’t a delete button fast enough for me.

I always laugh! My friend sent me this pic today. I was in a place that I had to restrain myself from really laughing out loud. It’s hilarious and it’s monday madness (have not done monday madness in ages) on a beautiful sunny thursday afternoon 😀

emailsI just love it !!

Flee!

heartHave you ever felt like this?

  • When you have so many friends and still feel lonely, no one is really there for you
  • When the one thing you dislike most is left there for you to look at, a reminder that what you like doesn’t matter and neither do you
  • When you keep pretending you have a perfect happy life, but actually you just feel like crying
  • When you feel your image and contribution in the professional world is worth nothing

That’s not the feeling of an angry person – it’s just a sad one and there’s a difference. Social fears are way more destructive than physical ones and physical danger.

When your body senses some kind of stress nearby (danger or a threat) your cells in the nervous and endocrine systems work closely together to prepare the body for action.

Cell communication! They set the body into instant reaction and response. So if you are in danger your body and brain goes into crazed mode. The complete opposite is calm mode.

Some people call it fight or flight and then there’s flee mode. Ever heard of ‘cleave or leave’? Most of the time the feeling is to flee from everything and everyone and just be alone.

So what do you say to the four different people who feel like fleeing? I wish I had an answer and some solutions, I bet there are a million lists out there that offer help, and although I love lists I’d hate to read one of those ‘self-help things’ if I was feeling like this.

In my search for something good – this old video came to mind – every time I watch it I laugh my head off. It wont solve any serious problems, but it’s an attempt for a smile and a good hearty laugh. Laughing is good for you. At least for a few moments you can forget, relax, flee and giggle. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and all the sadness will be gone.

And I’ll apologise upfront for whatever you don’t like in the video – I’m going to watch it again 😀

In the courtroom

I have to apologise upfront. Everyone is talking about this all over the world, and here at home its total madness. In the queue for a cup of coffee, in the corridor, at lunch time and at dinner time everyone is concentrating on the Oscar case (blade runner).

So I do apologise upfront for my monday madness on a Thursday afternoon….and if you don’t get my sense of humour or find this funny. I think its perfect for the topic of the last couple of days.

They have had so many breaks – brief adjournment – it’s looking a bit like this –
